1. Khái niệm
- Đạo đức trong nghiên cứu khoa học là một bộ phận của đạo đức xã hội, là những quy tắc, những chuẩn mực nhằm điều tiết hành vi một cách tự giác, tự nguyện của nhà khoa học trong hoạt động nghiên cứu khoa học. Vấn đề đạo đức trong nghiên cứu hiện diện ở tất cả các bước của quá trình nghiên cứu khoa học.
- Các khía cạnh liên quan đến đạo đức:
+ Những nguyên tắc chung về chuẩn mực của cộng đồng khoa học và các hành vi lệch chuẩn của người làm nghiên cứu.
+ Lựa chọn mục tiêu nghiên cứu, đảm bảo những mục tiêu đó không đi ngược lại các truyền thống đạo đức của nhân loại.
+ Đạo đức trong xử lý kết quả nghiên cứu, đảm bảo tính trung thực khoa học đối với kết quả nghiên cứu, trung thực với bản thân và trung thực với tài sản khoa học chung của cộng đồng.
+ Đạo đức trong sử dụng kết quả nghiên cứu, đảm bảo việc sử dụngkết quả nghiên cứu không nhằm vào những mục đích phi nhân bản
2. Chuẩn mực của cộng đồng nghiên cứu
* Quy chuẩn đạo đức nghiên cứu:
- Là sự tập hợp các nguyên tắc, quy định, các chuẩn mực mà người thực hiện nghiên cứu cần phải tuân thủ
- Mô tả trách nhiệm và hành vi cần có của người nghiên cứu với đối tượng nghiên cứu, khách thể nghiên cứu
- Không phải là những nguyên tắc hoàn chỉnh cho người nghiên cứu trong mọi tình huống, mọi hoàn cảnh
* Mục đích của việc tuân thủ quy chuẩn đạo đức trong nghiên cứu:
- Quy định những việc người nghiên cứu được làm và không được làm
- Xác định quyền hạn và trách nhiệm của người nghiên cứu trước khi triển khai nghiên cứu
- Bảo vệ an toàn, quyền lợi của những bên liên quan, đặc biẹt là khách thể nghiên cứu, tránh khỏi sự lạm dụng
* Các chuẩn mực đạo đức khoa học của cộng đồng khoa học trên thế giới:
Ý tưởng về các chuẩn mực trong hoạt động khoa học được một nhà xã hội học người Mỹ, Robert K. Merton (1910 – 2003), đưa ra vào năm1942(38). Đầu tiên ông gọi đó là những nguyên tắc, sau gọi là nhữngchuẩn mực. Nguyên tắc chủ đạo của các chuẩn mực đó là:
- Tính cộng đồng (Communalism, viết tắt là C). Tính cộng đồng đòi hỏi rằng, kết quả nghiên cứu là tài sản chung của toàn thể cộng đồng khoa học. Các thành viên cộng đồng được tự do trao đổi thông tin khoa học. Tuy nhiên điều này không hề mâu thuẫn với một nguyên tắc rất quan trọng là phải tôn trọng quyền tác giả, thể hiện ở nguyên tắc tríchdẫn đã nêu trong phần trình bày kết quả. Nếu không, người nghiên cứu hoàn toàn bị vi phạm chuẩn mực về đạo đức khoa học.
- Tính phổ biến (Universalism, viết tắt là U). Tính phổ biến có nghĩa là tất cả các nhà nghiên cứu có thể đóng góp phần trí tuệ của mìnhvào sự phát triển khoa học, không phân biệt chủng tộc, màu da, tinngưỡng hoặc ý thức hệ chính trị. Quả thật, từ lâu, khoa học đã thể hiện xu hướng hội nhập trong cộng đồng nhân loại, đã trở nên một thực thể mang tính quốc tế sâu xa
- Tính không vị lợi (Disinterested humility, viết tắt là D), là người nghiên cứu không để kết quả nghiên cứu của mình vướng bận vào những mục đích tín ngưỡng hoặc cá nhân. Người nghiên cứu cần cóthái độ rộng mở cho sự tìm kiếm. Hơn nữa, cần trung thực và khách quan, trong đó, kết quả nghiên cứu không được chế tác để phục vụ cho những mục đích riêng tư, vụ lợi, bất kể là của cá nhân hay những mục đích tôn giáo hoặc ý thức hệ.
- Tính độc đáo (Originality, viết tắt là O). Chuẩn mực này có nghĩa những công bố của người nghiên cứu phải là mới, đóng góp một điều gìđó vào kho tàng tri thức và sự hiểu biết chung của chúng ta.
- Tính hoài nghi (Skepticism, viết tắt là S). Đây là hoài nghi về mặt khoa học.
Phản ứng đầu tiên của người nghiên cứu là đừng vội tin lời công bố của các tác giả. Mọi kết quả được công bố cần phải được xem xét trước khi chấp nhận, phải được kiểm chứng bằng các luận cứ.
* Các dạng sai lệch chuẩn mực:
Có nhiều cách dẫn đến sai lệch chuẩn mực, gọi tắt là lệch chuẩn
a. Xét theo hậu quả tác động:
Theo cách này, lệch chuẩn được phân thành hai dạng: lệch chuẩn tích cực và lệch chuẩn tiêu cực.
- Lệch chuẩn tích cực: là loại lệch chuẩn của những người đi tiên phong trong khoa học. Hậu quả của dạng lệch chuẩn này được ghi nhận như một bước tiến trong khoa học.
VD: Quan niệm Nhật tâm của Copernics là một hiện tượng lệch chuẩn. Nó đi ngược lại quan niệm đương thời, bị chống lại dữ dội, nhưng là bước tiến trong quan niệm về vũ trụ.
- Lệch chuẩn tiêu cực: là loại lệch chuẩn dẫn đến sự thụt lùi trong xu thế tiến bộ của khoa học.
VD: Đến giờ phút này vẫn có người mang tham vọng sáng chế động cơ vĩnh cửu mặc dù định luật bảo toàn năng lượng đã bác bỏ ý tưởng đó từ nhiều thế kỷ.
=> Lệch chuẩn tiêu cực có hai dạng:
+ Do không hiểu biết mà lệch chuẩn.
VD: Người mang tham vọng sáng chế động cơ vĩnh cửu
Người đưa ý tưởng chứng minh số Pi bằng 4.
+ Cố tình lệch chuẩn vì một ý đồ riêng tư nào đó.
Khác với lệch chuẩn tích cực, người đưa ý tưởng lệch chuẩn biết rất rõ sự lệch chuẩn của mình.
VD: Copernicus biết rất rõ ông đưa ra một quan niệm đi ngược lại quan niệm dương thời về vũ trụ.
b. Xét theo tính chất của lệch chuẩn:
- Lệch chuẩn nhận thức: do nhận thức dẫn đến
- Lệch chuẩn kỹ thuật: do phương pháp và phương tiện gây ra
- Lệch chuẩn xã hội: là dạng lệch chuẩn so với chuẩn chung của xã hội. Người nghiên cứu đưa ra những kết luận khác biệt với những tư duy của cộng đồng
- Lệch chuẩn đạo đức: do đạo đức của người nghiên cứu hoặc người sử dụng kết quả nghiên cứu chi phối
=> Tất cả các dạng lệch chuẩn này đều có hai hướng tích cực và tiêu cực, mỗi hướng lại đem đến những kết quả, ảnh hưởng khác nhau.
